Training for Schools & Professionals

The adults around a child change the child's day. Jess trains teachers, educational assistants, support staff, and teams to understand what behavior communicates, prevent escalation before it starts, and support autistic and neurodivergent children with trauma-informed, assent-based practices, in language staff can use Monday morning.

How Jess practices

This is for you if…

Schools, classrooms, childcare programs, and professionals who support neurodivergent children, plus parents who want their child's school on the same page.

  • A student's behavior is escalating and the current plan is not working
  • Staff are confident with academics but stretched thin on behavior
  • Restraint and removal are happening more than anyone wants
  • Parents and school see the same child completely differently

What we work on together

Workshops that change practice

Practical training on the functions of behavior, de-escalation, and assent-based support, built around the real situations your staff face, not abstract theory.

Consultation on specific students

For a student whose needs exceed the general plan, Jess consults with the team: observing (video or reports), clarifying what drives the behavior, and building a support plan staff can actually run.

Bridging home and school

When families and schools respond consistently, children improve everywhere. Jess helps both sides build one shared understanding and one plan.

How it works

  1. Book a call

Describe your team, your students, and the challenge; Jess will scope a training or consultation that fits.

  2. Training built for your context

Sessions use your real scenarios, delivered virtually, with materials staff keep.

  3. Follow-through support

Optional follow-up consultation keeps the practices alive after the workshop ends.

Common questions

Do you train entire school teams or just individual teachers?

Both. Workshops scale from a single classroom team to whole-school professional development days, and individual educators or support professionals can book consultation directly. Content is adjusted to the group's roles and starting knowledge.

Is the training specific to autistic students?

The training centers on autistic and neurodivergent students, but the core of it, understanding what behavior communicates and responding in ways that de-escalate and teach, improves practice with every student in the room.

Can parents arrange training for their child's school?

Yes, this happens often. Parents connect Jess with the school team, and she works with the school on understanding and supporting that specific child. It is one of the fastest ways to get home and school pulling in the same direction.
