Behavior support for autism families in Toronto

Toronto families face some of the longest autism-service waits in the country: tens of thousands of Ontario children are registered with the Ontario Autism Program, and core clinical services can take years to arrive. Meanwhile the meltdowns, school calls, and 2am worries are happening today. Virtual behavior consulting puts a plan in your hands now.

Sessions run online in Eastern Time for families across the GTA: downtown condos, Scarborough bungalows, and commuter households from Mississauga to Markham. The parent-led model means no Gardiner traffic to a clinic, and the strategies live where the behavior lives, at home.

Funding & support in Ontario

Jess's consulting is private-pay. Some families direct flexible portions of their provincial funding toward eligible supports, and program rules change often, so always confirm with your funding coordinator. Either way, the free discovery call costs nothing and will help you map your options.

  • OAP — Ontario Autism Program

Ontario families registered with the OAP may receive funding they can direct toward eligible services, plus caregiver-focused programs while waiting for core clinical services. Check current OAP rules for what your funding can be used on.

  • Special Services at Home (SSAH)

Ontario's SSAH program helps families of children with developmental disabilities pay for supports; many GTA families use it to fund respite and skill-building help.

Serving the wider Toronto area

Families anywhere in the region, from Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Oakville, Pickering to Ajax, and everywhere in between, can work with Jess online. If you can get online, you are close enough.

Toronto families ask

We're waiting for OAP core services. Should we do anything in the meantime?

Yes. The waitlist years are exactly when parent-led support matters most: you can learn to reduce meltdowns, build communication, and stop behavior patterns from entrenching while you wait. Nothing about working with a private consultant affects your OAP registration or place in line.

Do you work with families outside Toronto proper, like Mississauga or Brampton?

Yes. Sessions are online, so families anywhere in the GTA, and anywhere in Ontario, get the same support: same-week scheduling in Eastern Time, no clinic commute.

My child masks all day at school in Toronto and explodes at home. Is that normal?

It is one of the most common patterns Jess sees: after-school restraint collapse. A child spends every ounce of regulation holding it together in class, then releases it where they feel safest. It is workable, and it is not your parenting.
